 After studying various professions in media art, I chose the role of sports photographer. Sports photographers are professional photographers who shoot high-quality images for athletes, sports events, and other action filled moments. They use their technical skills, creativity, and sports knowledge to record the excitement, intensity, and emotions of sports competitions.

The main responsibilities of a sports photographer include setting up and maintaining camera equipment, predicting key moments in a game or event, and capturing images that convey the story and atmosphere of a sports event. They may work for newspapers, magazines, websites, or sports teams, and their photos can be used for editorial, promotional, or commercial purposes. To stand out in this field, sports photographers must have a deep understanding of photography techniques such as shutter speed, aperture, and composition, as well as an in-depth understanding of the sports covered.

I searched and found that some of the key skills required for a successful sports photographer include excellent hand eye coordination, the ability to work under pressure, a keen sense of time, and the ability to adapt to various light and weather conditions. A degree in photography or related fields may be beneficial, but in this highly competitive industry, practical experience and a strong portfolio are often more important. As of Mar 17, 2023, the average annual pay for a Sports Photographer in the United States is $44,059 a year.
